Thesis Statement
Everyone has experienced the hospital at some point during their lives. Was your memory of that period pleasant? Or comfortable? This building is clinic for teenagers who have suffered sports injury. The purpose of this building is to provide comfort, fun, and interest in the form of user- friendly sport rehabilitation training and design. In this building there are several programs that help young people to recover, such as a pool for hydro therapy, massage, a gym for physio-therapy, rock climbing, and a ramp. The "Ramp" is important for this building. Patients can practice walking and while they walk they can feel the openness of the building. The ramp is running throughout the different spaces and finally arrives at the roof garden, mirroring the way it will be when they achieve their recovery goals. The ramp also represents the Mobius Strip which came from my concept balance. Balance is important to every aspect of the world including the human body. Both of them represent activity and muscle work. The location of the building will be on Harbord street. It is two blocks south along Spadina avenue, an area which has a lot of high schools including a sports-oriented high school as well as a physical education research building belonging to U of T.
